Wyoming Places 74 Student-Athletes on Spring 2008 Academic All-MWC Team

As announced Thursday by the Mountain West Conference office, the University of Wyoming has had 74 individuals named Academic All-Conference for the spring 2008 semester.
A total of 730 league student-athletes were named to the Spring 2008 Academic All-MWC team. MWC spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.
Wyoming's 74 individual honorees break down as follows by sport: Women's Track and Field (16), Men's Swimming and Diving (14), Women's Swimming and Diving (13), Men's Track and Field (8), Women's Basketball (7), Women's Golf (6), Women's Tennis (5), Men's Golf (4), and Men's Basketball (1).
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
BYU led the conference with 148 student-athletes named to this team, followed by New Mexico (94), UNLV and Utah (88), Wyoming (74), Colorado State (70), TCU (59), Air Force (57) and San Diego State (52).
