Junior Ryan Ball was the lone Cowboy to compete
in the U.S. Olympic Trials on Thursday morning at the CenturyLink Center. He
wrapped up his events by competing in the 200 back and 200 IM in Omaha, Neb. Brandon Fischer, who competed for UW from 2008-2012, placed 15th overall in the 200
breast on Wednesday night. Fischer recorded a time of 2:15.89.
Ball’s first event on Thursday morning was the 200 back. He finished third in the sixth heat of ten, and touched the pads with a time of 2:03.14, which placed him 47th overall in the event. Ball then went on to compete in the 200 IM to close out the day. He recorded a time of 2:07.86 to take 79th.
Junior Kyle White will represent the Pokes tomorrow in the 50 free. Other action for Friday will include the women’s 200 back and 800 free, in addition to the men’s 100 fly.
Day six of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials gets underway Friday at 9 a.m. MT. Live video of prelims and finals will be available at NBCSports.com/Live, and NBC will air Thursday's finals at 6 p.m. MT. The Trials continue through Sunday night.
