Brian Hill Earns All-America Honor From College Sports Madness

It is the time of year for All-America teams to be released and Wyoming junior running back @Brian Hill has earned his first All-America honor of his career.  College Sports Madness has selected Hill to its Third Team All-America squad.

Hill was joined on the third team by Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey.  The two first team running backs selected by College Sports Madness were Dalvin Cook of Florida State and D’Onta Foreman of Texas.  On the second team, were running backs Saquon Barkley of Penn State and Donnel Pumphrey of San Diego State.

Hill currently ranks: No. 6 in the nation in average rushing yards per game this season (135.9); No. 4 in the nation in total rushing yards (1,767); No. 4 in the NCAA in rushing touchdowns (21); No. 13 in the country in scoring (9.7 points per game); and No. 17 in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (141.69).

A junior from Belleville, Ill., Hill has set new Wyoming school records for: career rushing yards (4,194), single-season rushing yards (1,767), career carries (749), single-season carries (323), career touchdowns rushing (tied for No. 1 with 34) and single-season TDs rushing (21).

Hill also earned 2016 First Team All-Mountain West Conference honors in voting by conference head coaches and media, and he was one of 10 semifinalists for the 2016 Doak Walker Award that honors the nation’s premier running back.  Each of the six running backs named to this year’s College Sports Madness All-America teams were also named to the group of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award.
