The Cowboys head into Tuesday night with a 3-0 record after earning a convincing 77-67 home win over defending Summit League Champion South Dakota State on Saturday. The Pokes lead the Mountain West and rank No. 11 nationally in three pointers per game at 11.0. The Cowboys also lead the MW and rank No. 27 in the nation in blocks per game at 6.0. Wyoming is shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the arc. UW has been solid from the free throw line shooting 74 percent. The Pokes have kept care of the basketball leading the MW and ranking 34th nationally in fewest turnovers with 32 on the season.
The Tigers are 1-2 on the season after falling to UC-Irvine by a score of 72-65 on Saturday. The Tigers picked up their only win of the season against Green Bay on Nov. 14 downing the Phoenix, 76-58. Pacific is shooting 36 percent from the field, while the opposition is hitting 48 percent of their shots. Pacific is shooting 34 percent from the three point line. The Tigers have had success rebounding the basketball, as they average 43.7 per game with a plus 2.7 rebounding margin.
Each Team’s Leaders
Senior guard Jason McManamen leads the Cowboys in scoring pouring in 15.0 points per game, it ranks 13th in the MW. He scored 16 points in the win over South Dakota State. Wyoming has four players averaging double-figures this season. Junior guard Alexander Aka Gorski averages 14.3 points along with Sophomore Justin James. James has been solid in his last two games, with an average of 18.5 points per game last week. He scored a career-high 19 points including the game winning free throws against Montana. Junior forward Hayden Dalton leads the Pokes in rebounding at 7.7 per game, while also recording 10 points per game.
The Tigers are led in scoring by guard T.J. Wallace. He is averaging 15 points per game and is second on the team grabbing 6.7 boards per contest. Guard David Taylor is averaging 14.7 points per game. He has hit 64 percent from the three point line going 9-of-14. Forward Jack Williams also averages double-figures at 11 points per game. He leads the team averaging 7.3 rebounds per game.

Wyoming leads the all-time series 3-2. The Pokes won the last meeting on Jan 7, 1977 in Laramie by a score of 56-54. The Cowboys are 0-1 all-time in Stockton, Calif. and lost the only meeting between the teams on a neutral court.
