The Cowboys used double-figure scoring from four players in an 88-74 win over the PJ Stingers in Sir Kendal Issacs Gymnasium in Nassau, Bahamas on Thursday. Juniors Alexander Aka Gorski and Louis Adams recorded a team-high 18 points in the final game of the Pokes’ NCAA sanctioned trip.
Aka Gorski recorded his 18 points by going 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the field and 4-of-8 (50 percent) from behind the three point line. Adams was 6-of-9 (67 percent) from the field, as the newcomer scored double-figures in all three games.
Senior Jason McManamen added 14 points with junior Alan Herndon adding 11 points. McManamen joined Adams as UW players who scored double-figures in all three contests. Redshirt freshman @Cod added a team-high five assists to go along with three steals.
The Pokes were 24-of-55 from the field shooting 44 percent. The Cowboys held the Stingers to just 33 percent from the field (25-of-76). The Cowboys were effective against the Stingers shooting 76 percent (32-of-42) from the free throw line.
The PJ Stingers have had success against NCAA programs recently including wins over Southern Utah and Saint Louis last season.
