The Cowboys open a six-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting Front Range foe Denver in the Arena-Auditorium. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start and will be the 154th meeting between the two schools.

A Look at the Matchup
The Cowboys head into Wednesday night’s game with a 3-2 record after suffering a 71-61 loss at Cal on Friday. The Pioneers are 2-3 on the season under first-year head coach Rodney Billups. Denver is averaging 79 points per game this season and is also allowing 79 points per game. The Pioneers are shooting 49 percent from the field and 42 percent from the three-point line. Denver is allowing opponents to shoot 45 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three point line. Sophomore guard Justin James leads the Cowboys in scoring at 17 points per game, which ranks seventh in the MW. He scored a career-high 28 points in the Pokes’ loss to Cal last Friday. Senior guard Jason McManamen is second on the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game. He ranks No. 29 in the nation in free throws made this season with 36. Juniors Alan Herndon and Alexander Aka Gorski are averaging 9.8 points per game and 6.6 rebounds. Fellow junior Hayden Dalton is averaging 9.0 per game to go along with a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.
The Pioneers are led in scoring by guard Joe Rosga. He heads into Wednesday evening’s contest averaging 17.8 points per game to go along with 5.0 rebounds per game. He is shooting 49 percent from behind the arc this season. Center Daniel Amigo is pouring in 15.6 points per game to go along with a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game.

Wyoming leads the all-time series 103-50 in a series that dates back to 1915. The Pokes are 63-15 in Laramie and have won three of the last four matchups.
The Cowboys host Northern Iowa in the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Conference Challenge on Saturday. The game set for a 1 p.m. tip and is a rematch of the NCAA Tournament matchup from 2015.
