Wyoming enters the weekend with a 3-1 record after a 61-26 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Sunday afternoon. Four Cowgirls finished the night in double figures led by junior Liv Roberts. She recorded a game-high 14 points and seven rebounds. She was 6-of-9 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. Junior Natalie Baker and sophomores Marta Gomez and Rachelle Tucker each added ten points. Against Cal State Fullerton, Wyoming shot 26-of-71 (.366) from the field and 7-of-26 (.269) from three. UW also out rebounded the Titans, 52-35.
UW is shooting 92-of-233 (.395) from the field and 32-of-92 (.348) from beyond the arc. The Cowgirls are also outscoring opponents 61.2-47.0 and out rebounding teams 39.2-31.0.
Adams State enters the game with a 1-3 overall mark. Cydney McHenry leads the team with 9.5 points while adding 5.3 rebounds. Maddy Merschel is averaging a team high 8.5 boards plus 5.5 points. As a squad, Adams State returns three starters and 13 letterwinners to a team that went 3-22 overall and 2-19 in the RMAC a season ago.
This is the tenth meeting between the two schools. UW leads the series 9-0. The last time the two met was December 30, 2008. The Cowgirls came out on top with a 55-48 victory. The Grizzlies are coached by Larry Joe Hunt who is in third season with the program.
