Wyoming enters the weekend with a 2-1 record after a 59-49 victory over Denver on Thursday night. Four Cowgirls finished the night in double figures in the win. Junior Natalie Baker and sophomore Rachelle Tucker each had 11 points while Baker led the way with eight rebounds. Sophomore Bailee Cotton and freshman Taylor Rusk recorded ten points. Wyoming shot 22-of-57 (.386) from the field and 11-of-16 (.688) from the charity stripe. UW out rebounded the Pioneers, 35-27.
UW is shooting 66-of-162 (.407) from the field and 25-of-66 (.379) from beyond the arc. The Cowgirls are also outscoring opponents 61.3-54.0 and out rebounding teams 35.0-29.7.
Cal State Fullerton enters the game with an 0-2 record this season. Iman Lathan leads the way averaging 23.5 points and six rebounds per contest while Dhanyel Johnson is chipping in a team-high nine rebounds. As a squad, Cal State Fullerton returns one starter and three letterwinners to a squad that went 3-27 overall and 1-15 in the Big West a season ago.
This is the fifth meeting between the two schools. UW leads the series 3-1. The last time the two met was November 24, 2015. The Cowgirls came out on top with a 61-56 overtime victory. The Titans are coached by Daron Park who is in his fourth season with the program.
