LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be sponsoring its 2010 Blood Drive on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 2 and 3. This year's blood drive will be held in the lower level of UW's Washakie Dining Center in the Washakie Center Community Lounge from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. on each of those two days. SAAC encourages everyone in the Laramie community who is interested in donating blood to take advantage of this worthwhile community event.
United Blood Services of Cheyenne will provide professional staff members for the event.
To schedule or confirm an appointment, please contact McKynzie Maher of the UW SAAC or Gwen Cotterman of the Office of Academic Support in UW Athletics. Maher may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, and Cotterman may be contacted at email@example.com or by phone at 766-2075.
The annual blood drive involves all nine Mountain West Conference member institutions in a friendly competition to increase the awareness and need for blood donations in their communities.
Each school is allowed to count one day of their blood drive toward their competition total. For that reason, people interested in donating are encouraged to donate on Wednesday, Feb. 3 if their schedule allows.
The MWC school that generates the largest number of blood donations will be recognized at the 2010 Conoco Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev., March 9-13.
