LARAMIE - The annual Cowboy Joe Club Golf Tournament to be held Friday, May 20 at Bell Nob Golf Course in Gillette will help support local residents in need. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated by University of Wyoming Athletics and the Cowboy Joe Club to the Council of Community Services in Gillette. Donations of non-perishable food items and personal care products from community members will also be accepted at Bell Nob and will be passed on to the Council.
“As we were preparing for our annual Cowboy Joe Club golf tournament in Gillette this Friday, we felt like this was a perfect opportunity for University of Wyoming Athletics to give back to families in need in the Campbell County area during this difficult economic time,” said Tom Burman, UW Athletics Director. “We reached out to the Council of Community Services in Gillette and will be providing proceeds from the tournament for them to use in their various programs to assist families. We want to thank Staci Bungard, Executive Director at the Council of Community Services, for working with us, and we hope that this money will help in a small way to meet some families’ needs.”
The Council of Community Services sincerely thanks the University of Wyoming Athletics Department for partnering with our organization by providing funds from the Cowboy Joe Club Golf Tournament.
“This generous donation will help residents needing food, shelter, and clothing. The Council has seen an increase in the number of residents requesting assistance and we are very grateful for the funding,” said Staci Bungard, Executive Director of the Council.
There are limited spaces still available for Friday’s golf tournament. Registration for the tournament closes on Wednesday. If you want to enter a team or need additional information about the tournament, please call the Cowboy Joe Club Offices at (307) 766-6242
