The University of Wyoming athletics department has announced the hiring of Chris Haller as the Director of Event Management and Game Operations. He will officially begin his duties on June 30, 2015.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to work with Chris,” Associate Athletics Director for Facility Operations/Event Management Tyson Drew said. “His enthusiasm and experience will bring a lot of value to the department in how we conduct our game operations and event management.”
Haller comes to Wyoming after spending the past year at Louisiana Tech working as an administrator for game preparation and oversight of all 14 athletic sports. He served as the head game manager for volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and assisted with football and baseball. While there, Haller also assisted with visiting teams and officials, created information guides and oversaw student workers.
Prior to that, he spent two years at the University of Kansas as an assistant with facilities and game management. He helped with pre-game preparation of football, volleyball, soccer, men’s and women’s basketball and track and field. He also acted as a liaison for visiting teams and officials, provided knowledge of stadium and arena information and worked with the marketing department with in-game promotions.
"I am excited to come work for the University of Wyoming,” Haller added. “It is a great time to be a part of an athletics department where each sport is excelling across the board. I look forward to this opportunity.”
During that time, he also served as a marketing and creative services intern for Premier Sports Management and was the president of the KU Sport Management Club. Haller graduated with a degree in sport management with minors in business and psychology from the University of Kansas in May of 2014.
