LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming had 68 student-athletes named to the 2006 Spring Sport Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team this week. Wyoming's 68 individual honorees break down as follows by sport: Women's Track and Field (16), Women's Swimming and Diving (14), Men's Swimming and Diving (9), Men's Track and Field (8), Women's Basketball (8), Women's Tennis (6), Women's Golf (5), Men's Basketball (1) and Men's Golf (1).
A total of 731 MWC student-athletes were named to the team. To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
BYU led the way with 168 student-athletes named to the team, followed by New Mexico (105) and UNLV (90), Colorado State (77), Wyoming (68), Air Force (64), Utah (63), TCU (59) and San Diego State (37).
