University of Wyoming Athletics Department Announces Administrative Staff Promotions

Aug. 9, 2010

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman has announced five promotions within the UW Athletics Department. Each of the promotions were made to increase efficiency within the Athletics Department, but with the current economy none of the promotions carry with them a pay raise.

Matt Whisenant has been promoted from Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations to Deputy Director of Athletics. Molly Moore has been promoted from Associate Athletics Director to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations. Josh Rebholz has been promoted from Associate Athletics Director to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Revenue Enhancement and will continue to oversee the Cowboy Joe Club operations.

Also promoted within the Cowboy Joe Club was Keener Fry, who has been promoted from Assistant Athletics Director to Associate Athletics Director.

UW Athletics Ticket Manager Greg Koteen has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations.

"With each of these promotions, we have tried to better define individual roles with an eye toward enhancing revenue streams," said Burman. "I feel very fortunate to have an outstanding administrative staff. I wanted to better utilize some of their skills by giving them added responsibilities. Due to the current economic climate, no pay raises accompany these promotions."

Whisenant has been with the UW Athletics Department since 2002 when he was hired as an Assistant Athletics Director for the areas of compliance and sport supervision. He was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services and Compliance in 2005, and was elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations in June 2007. In his new position as Deputy Athletics Director, he will be second in command in the Wyoming Athletics Department, and will directly oversee the sports of football, men's basketball, women's basketball and wrestling.

Moore came to Wyoming in the fall of 2007 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Internal Operations. She was promoted to Associate Athletics Director and Senior Women's Administrator in July of 2008. She began her college athletic administrative career in 1999 as a graduate assistant in athletics at her alma mater, Washington State University where she was also a member of the track and field team. Immediately prior to coming to Wyoming, Moore served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director at Portland State University.

Rebholz joined UW's Cowboy Joe Club in the fall of 2006 as Associate Athletics Director for Development. During his four previous years at Wyoming, Rebholz has guided the Cowboy Joe Club to record levels in fundraising. This past year, the Cowboy Joe Club set a new record by generating $3.4 million in total revenue. Prior to coming to Wyoming, Rebholz served as the Assistant Director of Development with the University of Missouri Athletics Department. He also was the Director of Donor Relations for Portland State University Athletics from August 2004 to December 2005.

Fry rejoined UW Athletics in August of 2007 as Assistant Athletics Director for Annual Giving with the Cowboy Joe Club. He originally came to Wyoming in November 1997 as Senior Associate Athletics Director, and remained at UW until July 2001 before returning to the education field for six years in West Virginia.

Koteen has been with Wyoming Athletics since July 2008 when he was hired as Associate Ticket Manager. In July 2009, Koteen was promoted to Athletics Ticket Manager, and is now being elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations.
