The Cowboy Joe Club, the University of Wyoming's athletic fundraising arm, announced today that the 25th Annual Cowboy Joe Club Auction presented by Infinity Power and Controls eclipsed the $250,000 mark in net profit. All funds raised through the clubs annual auction, which was held at Cheyenne's Little America Grand Ballroom, will be used towards student-athlete scholarships and resources.
A sold-out crowd of 600 Wyoming fans from across the region attended this year's auction, held Friday, Sept. 23. Popular items included a Kentucky Derby Weekend package, a luxury vacation to the Bahamas, 2011 Nebraska at Wyoming sideline passes, NFL Pro Bowl Tickets and Four Night Stay in Hawaii, 2011 Polaris Ranger, Indianapolis 500 Tickets, Football Clinic Provided by Wyoming Greats John Wendling and Chris Prosinski, Phoenix Open tickets, Guided Alaskan Kenai River Salmon Fishing Trip, Golf at the #9 Golf Club in the World, Scottsdale Spring Training Get a Way, and the world famous Cast and Blast package at Crazy Rainbow.
This year's auction, chaired by Mark Depew of Cheyenne, was sponsored by Infinity Power and Controls, Town & Country Supermarket Liquors, Orrison Distributing, LG Inc, Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power, Doug & Susan Samuelson, Laramie GM, The Wyoming Club, Simon Contractors, American National Bank, #1 Properties/Angie Depew, ISC, Wyoming State Bank and Century Link.
The 26th Annual Cowboy Joe Club auction is tentatively scheduled for the final weekend of September 2012, in Cheyenne. The next major special event for the Cowboy Joe Club is the Annual Online Auction, to be held the entire month of February 2012 at www.wyomingathletics.com.
