LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The 21st Annual Cowboy Joe Club Auction, to be held this Friday, Oct. 5 at the Taco John's Events Center in Cheyenne, has sold out.
The annual auction, historically the Club's single-most successful fundraising event of the year, has reached a capacity crowd of 700 attendees, which will make it the highest attended auction in the University's history.
"We are really excited to announce this auction is a sell-out," said Executive Director of CJC Josh Rebholz. "It is a true tribute to all of the volunteers, committee chairs Harry and Shirley Kembel, IGC Management, and our staff, who have all worked so hard to put this event on.
"With the large crowd, and the great list of packages available for bid, we believe we can raise $250,000, after expenses, for Wyoming Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athletes. The dedication and participation from our coaches and administration has also been excellent. We are proud that some of our head coaches, including Coach Glenn, Coach Schroyer and Coach Legerski will be at the event to share in this success.
"This is shaping up to be a great night for the Cowboy Joe Club and University of Wyoming Athletics."
The evening will include a silent auction, dinner and live auction. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5 p.m., when the doors open for the silent auction. Dinner will be served shortly after 6 p.m. Business casual dress is encouraged, with an emphasis on Game-Day Gold. Dan Brain of Laramie will provide entertainment during the silent auction while Shawn and Lex Madden will serve as auctioneers during the live auction. Dave Walsh, the "Voice of the Cowboys," will serve as emcee.
Keep in mind that the day following the auction the Cowboy football team will host TCU at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. Kickoff is set for noon.
