LARAMIE, Wyo. -
A record $160,000 was raised to support University of Wyoming student-athlete scholarships at the 18th Annual Cowboy Joe Club Auction presented by IGC Management. The event was held Oct. 1 at the Cheyenne Holiday Inn.
Another record was also set with 450 people in attendance. This year's attendance mark topped the 380 people that attended in 2003. The revenue generated by the auction is up $20,000 from last year's record total.
Over 185 silent auction and 50 live auction items were auctioned off by Shawn and Lex Madden of Torrington along with the Voice of the Cowboys - Dave Walsh. Some of the items included a Volkswagen Poke Bug, vacation packages, Wyoming memorabilia, various art and catered dinner packages with Wyoming coaches.
"We appreciate all the support we received from the auction volunteers and from those individuals and businesses that donated to the auction," said John Stark, Executive Director of the Cowboy Joe Club. "All of those in attendance made it an evening to remember. We hope the success of the annual auction continues next year."
