Oct. 31, 2012

LARAMIE, Wyo. - With the Holiday season approaching, the University of Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Laramie Detachment #777 of the Marine Corps League will team up to collect Toys For Tots at Saturday's Wyoming-Colorado State football game. Toys, checks or cash may be donated at all entrances to War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 3. Saturday's game is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m., Mountain Time.

Toys For Tots is a program that has been coordinated for years by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. All toys donated at Saturday's game will remain in Albany County.

Toys donated on Saturday need to be new and unwrapped. Financial donations may also be made at Saturday's collection by cash or check. Checks may be made out to: Marine Toys For Tots Foundation.

"Every penny we raise and every toy we collect goes to benefit children in Albany County," said Charlie Hogelin, who is the Coordinator for Toys For Tots in Albany County. "The majority of the toys and cash we collect each year comes from the UW football game. We appreciate the involvement by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the game this Saturday."

Last year, Toys For Tots in Albany County provided toys to approximately 500 children and 150 families.
