LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Laramie Detachment #777 of the Marine Corps League announced this week that fans who attended the Wyoming-Colorado State football game on Saturday, Nov. 3 donated $6,265 in cash, 177 toys, six books and 60 stocking stuffers to go toward this year's Toys For Tots program in Albany County.
The UW SAAC and the Laramie Detachment of the Marine Corps League teamed up to collect Toys For Tots at the gates to last Saturday's game at Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium.
Toys For Tots is a program that has been coordinated for years by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. All toys and cash donated at Saturday's game will remain in Albany County.
Financial donations and donations of toys may still be made to Toys For Tots. To donate to the program in Albany County or to obtain additional information, click here.

"We very much appreciate all the generous donations from people at last week's game, and we appreciate the involement by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee." said Charlie Hogelin, who is the coordinator for Toys For Tots in Albany County. "Every penny we raise and every toy we collect goes to benefit children in Albany County," "The majority of the toys and cash we collect each year comes from the UW football game."
A year ago in 2011, Toys For Tots in Albany County provided toys to approximately 500 children and 150 families.
