Letter from Athletics Director, Tom Burman

Dec. 4, 2006

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

First of all, on behalf of the nearly 400 student-athletes at UW, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of Wyoming Athletics. Whether you are an alum, current Cowboy Joe Club member, fan or just a "friend" of the University, we appreciate your support.

What a pleasure it is to serve as the Athletics Director at the University of Wyoming! The young people that represent the University as student-athletes are a fantastic collection of young men and women who represent us with such class.

I am so excited about the future of Wyoming athletics. We recently completed the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex and have broken ground on a state-of-the-art indoor practice facility. We will continue to push forward to raise funds for additional War Memorial Stadium enhancements as well as a new indoor tennis facility.

Contributions to the Cowboy Joe Club continue to grow, in 2006 we topped 4,000 total members for the first time ever. The Cowboy Joe Club's annual contribution to the athletics department budget for student-athlete scholarships also continues to grow. Cowboy and Cowgirl fans from across the country are stepping up to support UW athletics.

To that end, I hope you will consider pledging your support of our student-athletes in 2007 by joining the Cowboy Joe Club. Your gift, at whatever level you choose, will assist us in providing scholarship support to our student-athletes. In turn, this enables us to use ticket and sponsorship revenue to fund our athletic programs and give our student-athletes the best opportunity for success.

Make your pledge for 2007 here.

If there is ever anything that we can do for you on this end, please don't hesitate to contact us. Again, thank you for your support of Wyoming Athletics. Go Pokes!

Sincerely,

Tom Burman
Director of Athletics
