Straight Talk With Lee Moon

  • Lee Moon Biography

University of Wyoming Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, William Lee Moon, Sr.
How does the University of Wyoming schedule opponents and game times for home basketball games? Why does UW recruit out-of-state student-athletes? How are donations to the Cowboy Joe Club used?

Athletics Director Lee Moon will cover these and other topics of interest to UW sports fans in a new Internet-based column, "Straight Talk". Fans also will be able to e-mail questions to Moon, answers will be posted to the column's Web site: Click here for "Straight Talk".

"The University of Wyoming has some of the country's most dedicated, most knowledgeable sports fans," says Moon, "but intercollegiate athletics have become increasingly complex in recent years. Finances, recruiting, Title IX, NCAA compliance, scheduling, and television--among other factors--have a significant impact on what the fans see when they go to UW intercollegiate athletics events.

"My 'Straight Talk' column, and answers to specific fan questions, should help increase public knowledge of some of the issues we deal with in intercollegiate athletics at UW, and how we address those issues," says Moon. "I can't guarantee that people always will agree with our decisions, but they will have a better understanding of how and why we arrived at them."
