LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming student-athlete Joe Hall has been named to the 1999 GTE Academic Men's Spring At-Large All-District VII Team.

Hall, of Buffalo, Wyoming, just completed his junior season as a member of the UW track and field team. A multiple-year letterwinner in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, Hall has maintained a 3.89 GPA while pursuing a degree in architectural engineering.

"Joe is certainly worthy of this type of recognition," said head track and field coach Larry Judge. "He epitomizes the definition of student-athlete and is an example for everyone on the team."

Hall has three times been named a WAC Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-WAC. He recently placed sixth at the WAC Outdoor Championships in the 10,000 meter run and earned All-Conference honors this past fall in cross country with a sixth-place finish at the WAC Championships.

Hall and the other nine members of the All-District VII team will now be placed on the ballot for the 1999 GTE Academic All-American team for Spring Sports, which will be announced later this summer.
