LARAMIE, Wyo. - Ricky Faure is just a sophomore on the UW cross country team, but the Wyoming native has stepped up into a leadership role for the 2016 season. A staple in the Cowboys’ top five during the 2015 campaign, Faure hopes to elevate his budding stardom to the next level this fall. While Faure usually lets his times do the talking, he recently had some things to say about life on and off the course.
What do you like doing besides running?
Ricky: Shooting. I like to go out shooting prairie dogs and just shooting guns. It’s the best thing to do here in Wyoming.
Who do you think is the funniest person on the team?
R: Does Yuichiro [Hidaka], our athletic trainer, count?
Could you beat Coach Berryhill in a 5K?
R: Right now, I could. He’s not in his prime.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
R: People spitting on their runs.
What is your favorite place on campus?
R: The fueling station.
What’s the number one thing on your bucket list?
R: Qualify at the Olympic Trials.
Who’s your favorite athlete outside the track and cross country world?
R: LaDainian Tomlinson.
