It is an exciting time for University of Wyoming Athletics as the Cowboy Football team is still in pursuit of a conference championship and the Cowboy Basketball team is undefeated at 3-0.
The Cowboy Basketball team will be hosting Northern Iowa on Saturday, Dec. 3 in a rematch of the two teams meeting in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. That game was originally scheduled for 4 p.m., M.T., but is being moved to 1 p.m., M.T. The change in game time is being made to allow Cowboy fans to watch the Wyoming Football team if it earns a spot in the 2016 Mountain West Conference Championship Game, which will also be played on Dec. 3.
The Mountain West Championship Game will kick off at 5:45 p.m., M.T. on Dec. 3 and will be televised on ESPN.
If Wyoming earns a berth in the MW Championship and hosts the game in Laramie, the Pepsi Pregame Zone will be open in the Indoor Practice Facility immediately after the basketball game concludes.
If the Cowboy Football team earns a berth in the MW Championship game and that game is played in San Diego, a watch party for the Championship Game will be held in the Arena-Auditorium, beginning at 5 p.m., M.T.
The Cowboys can capture the Mountain Division with a victory at New Mexico this coming Saturday, Nov. 26. If Wyoming would lose to New Mexico this Saturday, the Cowboys can still clinch the division if Boise State also loses to Air Force.
If the Mountain West Championship is played in Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium, tickets will go on sale Sunday, Nov. 27th at Noon M.T. and season-ticket holders would be offered the opportunity to purchase their same seats to the MW Championship Game. To reserve those seats, season-ticket holders would be given until 5:30 p.m. M.T. on Tuesday, Nov. 29 to purchase those seats. If season-ticket holders choose not to exercise their right then those tickets will be offered to the general public. Additional ticketing and parking information will be released alongside any official hosting announcement Sunday morning.
