Kyle Bogner

Who were you cheering for in last week's Super Bowl?
"I wasn't really rooting for either team actually. I was impartial."

What is your favorite dive?
"Probably an inward 2 ½ on one-meter."

What is your least favorite dive?
"My least favorite dive would probably be a gainer 2 ½ twister on three-meter."

Which board do you prefer, one-meter or three-meter?
"It is kind of a wash. I like them both and they are each challenging in their own way."

When you are working out and training, what is your least favorite thing to do?
"I don't like power-snatches in the weight room."

When did you start diving, and how did you get into the sport?
"I started diving one-meter when I was a freshman in high school. About half way through my sophomore year in high school was when I started getting serious about diving."

Do you have any rituals you go through before you compete?
"I just chill out, nothing special at all."

The men's diving team at UW has had a lot of success this season with all four guys having the ability to win a meet on any given day. What do you attribute that success to?
"Honestly, I think it is Ben (Herdt, UW diving coach). My scores have improved more than 50 points per board just since I got here this past fall."

What is your favorite place to hang out on campus?
"The fish bowl up on the 12th floor of McIntyre Hall, which is a lobby area in that dorm."

What is your favorite class?
"Computer Science."

What is your least favorite class?
"English 1010."

You create websites in your spare time for businesses...what are the details of that?
"Right now I work for a company based out of Denver during the summer. When I was talking to them, it came up that they don't have a website so I am building one for them to boost their sales and stuff."

Tell us about your nickname, 'Shooter'.
"During practice at the beginning of the year, I spit from the diving board all the way to the gutter of the pool and I landed it right in the gutter. Since then people have called me Shooter."

You came from the same club team as Stephanie Ortiz (a current sophomore on the UW diving team), did that influence your decision to come to Wyoming?
"The only reason it really influenced me was that I didn't know much about Wyoming before she came here. I learned a lot about it from her."

What is your favorite place to eat on the road?
"Olive Garden."

If you could see any band in concert who would it be?
"That's a tough one. I would probably go see 'Hit the Lights'."
