Wyoming Divers Compete at Air Force Diving Invitational

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming divingteam traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., this past weekend to competein the Air Force Diving Invitational. UW's six divers dove in the1-meter, 3-meter and platform events at the two-day invite.

In the women's division the Cowgirls were up against divers from AirForce, Colorado State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizonaand UNLV. The top Cowgirl performance was given by freshman AshlieNiederer from Lyman, Wyo., who placed seventh in the 1-meter with ascore of 210.95. She was also the top women's finisher on the 3-meterspringboard with a 14th-place finish (348.20). Sophomore ChanningKimball lead the Cowgirls on the platform finishing 11th with a score of260.25

The Wyoming men competed in a much smaller field against only Air Forceand UNLV. Freshman Adam Miller, from Newcastle, Wyo., was the only Poketo compete due to an injury to UW senior Oscar Delgado in warm-ups.Miller placed third in each event, scoring 237.85 points in the 1-meter,370.60 in the 3-meter and 330.70 on the platform.
