Laramie, Wyo. (February 7, 2004) -- The University of Wyoming divingteam finished with six divers in the top-five of the platform divingboard at the 2004 Falcon Cup, Saturday at the Air Force Academy.
The Cowboys were led by Adam Miller who won the platform board with ascore of 383.25, a new top 10 all-time score at Wyoming. John Lynchand Kevin Bretting finished second and third to give Wyoming a cleansweep of the top three spots. Lynch finished second with a score of352.05 and Bretting finished third with a score of 346.80. MichaelSmith finished with a tenth place score of 239.90.
All three Cowgirl divers finished in the top-five of the platform,with Saara Haapanen leading the way with a third place finish of268.05. Emily Keefer placed fourth with a score of 260.05 andChanning Kimball placed fifth with a score of 240.25.
Other schools competing were Air Force, New Mexico and Utah.
"Overall, I was very pleased with the way we dove," said UWdiving coach Russ Dekker. "I thought we were pretty consistent withhow we dove last week. I know the team was tired, a little beat upand a little sore but they looked pretty good."
The diving team will now join the swimmers in preparation for thisyears Mountain West Conference Championships. The Championships willrun from Feb. 18-21 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
