University of Wyoming divers junior Kari Campbell and freshman Austin Rettinghouse qualified for the finals of the platform dive on the final day of the NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships in Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Wednesday afternoon.

"Today went really well and having two divers in finals is very good," UW diving coach Chelsea Popplewell said. "It is a tough field in this zone and I think we held our own and it was a great experience."

Campbell finished her season by finishing 15th in the 34-diver field with a total score of 451.90. She recorded a tally of 229.05 in the preliminaries to earn a spot in the finals. Sophomore Keely Bishop finished 19th just missing a spot in the finals with a score of 214.85.

Rettinghouse made his first career final at the Zone "E" Championship finishing 18th in the 23-diver field with a tally of 499.35. He recorded a score of 252.80 in the preliminaries.

"We are very young and it is exciting for the future of Wyoming diving," Popplewell said. "Overall the season went well and everyone got stronger as the season went on."

All four UW divers who qualified for the NCAA Zone Championship will return to Wyoming next season.
