The University of Wyoming diving team wrapped up the second day of the NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championship on Friday evening in the Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colo. Wyoming competed on the men's 1-meter springboard and the women's 3-meter springboard.
"We did what we needed to do today, we just need to get more comfortable in bigger dives," UW diving coach Yahya Radman said. "I'm looking forward to seeing us on the tower tomorrow."
Senior Amanda Fay led the Cowgirls' charge on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 258.75. She placed 30th in the event in the 58-diver field. Freshman Keely Bishop finished right behind in 31st with a tally of 256.10. Sophomore Kari Campbell rounded out the Cowgirl divers placing 36th with a score of 243.20.
The Pokes were led once against by senior Derek Campbell. He earned a tally of 269.20 in the 1-meter event finishing 22nd. Freshman Jacob Rehmeier finished 25th in the event with a score of 263 in his first ever NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championship.
"I was pleased with our efforts and the way Keely stepped up under pressure," Radman stated.
The championship wraps up on Saturday with the men's and women's platform event.
