Cowgirl Kelsey Conci Swims At The First Day Of The NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - Cowgirl Swimmer Kelsey Conci competed on Thursday in the 50 freestyle at the 2011 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas.

"Kelsey swam really well today," Wyoming head swimming coach Tom Johnson said. "We are really looking forward for her to compete tomorrow in the 100 back(stroke)."

Conci swam in the 50 freestyle preliminary rounds on Thursday morning where she placed in a tie for 40th with a time of 22.74. Unfortunately, her time was not fast enough to get her into the finals, but she will continue the championships on Friday.

On Friday, the second day of the NCAA Championships Conci will swim the 100 backstroke which is the event that qualified her for the championship meet. The 100 back prelims will be swam around 10 a.m. Mountain Time on Friday.
