LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming divers competed in the platform event for the second time this season on Saturday at the Texas Diving Invite. Sophomore Jacob Rehmeier led UW finishing sixth in the men's event.
"Today went very well for being the second time this season we have been on the platform," UW diving coach Chelsea Popplewell said. "We have been very consistent and that is what we are looking for."
Rehmeier posted a score of 274.70 in the final event of the competition. He averaged a score of 45.78 per dive. Freshman Ryan Russi finished ninth at 249.85. Fellow freshman Austin Rettinghouse tallied a 221.15 to round out the Cowboys.
Junior Kari Campbell led the Cowgirls finishing seventh with a score of 203.50. Sophomore Keely Bishop added a tally of 188.65 to finish 10th. Senior Holly Heussner finished with a score of 187.25 to finish 11th. Sophomore Lauren Puglisi finished 112th at 159.60.
"It was great prep for the championship season," Popplewell said.
The Wyoming swimmers take their turn in Austin next at the Texas Invite.
