Cowgirl Swimmers Beat Northern Colorado To Remain Undefeated

The University of Wyoming women's swimmingand diving team improved its overall season dual record to 4-0 afterdefeating the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo., Tuesdaynight, 172-128.

Wyoming won ten of 16 events at the dual. Individually for theCowgirls sophomore Jennifer Schurz won both the 1000 freestyle and the500 freestyle. Freshman Darcrea Corey also won two events, placingfirst on both the 200 backstroke and the 200 butterfly.

Other winners for UW were Senior Emily Hollon in the 200 freestyle,senior Jaime LaBrayere in the 50 freestyle, senior Jessica Schiffl inthe 100 freestyle and freshman Jen Weidert in the 200 breaststroke.LaBrayere's victory was her first ever collegiate win.

The Cowgirls also swept both diving events. Senior Dominy Alderman wonthe three-meter springboard and junior Wendy O'Connell won theone-meter. UW divers placed in the top-three of both events.

?I really messed around with our lineup a lot tonight,? said head coachTom Johnson. ?I had some people swimming some events they normally don'tswim.

?Nice effort from the girls especially coming off a tough workout thismorning and last night.? Johnson said.

The Cowgirls will split up for their next meets as some of the teamwill head to the Notre Dame Classic in South Bend, Ind., Dec. 2-4, andthe remainder will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the ColoradoCollege Classic Dec. 3-4.
