Both the men and women's swimmers finishedin second place at the UNLV Rebel Relays in Las Vegas, Nev. on Sunday. TheCowboys finished with 324 points and the Cowgirls finished with 345 points.
A men's team consisting of Guy Fulfer, Damian Storz, Jon George and GrantKritzinger finished in first place in the 600-freestyle relay competitionwith a time of 5:06.51. Following in third place for the same event was TedDibble, Lucas Boyd, Jacob Rehard and Per Malmberg.
Two Cowboy teams finished in second and third place for the 200-freestylerelay competition. Finishing in second was Brad Leopold, Kritzinger, Dibbleand Storz (2:09.11) and third was Josh Storey, Malmberg, Boyd and JonChristianson (2:13.97). A team of Cowboys also finished in second place inthe 200-butterfly with a time of 1:38.45. The team was made up of Rehard,Morgan Wardell, Christianson and Boyd.
A Cowgirl team of Missy Lewis, Crystal, Lindsey Springer and Mabry Fiddlertook away a first place finish in the 200-breaststroke (2:05.99). Anothergroup also finished in first in the 200-backstroke with a time of 1:52.75.These swimmers included Jody Riskowski, Ryan Springer, Janelyn Lilly andKatie Haywood.
The Cowgirls came away with second and third place finishes on threeseparate events, including the 100-medley relay, 600-medley relay and100-freestyle.
The women's swimming and diving teams resume competition in Corbett Pool onSat. Dec. 8 against the University of Kansas at noon. Both the men andwomen then go to Irvine, Calif. for their Christmas Training from Dec. 28 -Jan. 8.
