LARAMIE, Wyo. -
This weekend, the University of Wyoming swimming and diving team will host their last home meet of the season in Corbett Pool when UNLV comes to Laramie on Saturday. The first set of diving will begin at 10 a.m., with the meet starting at 11 a.m.
Saturday will also be the last time seven Wyoming seniors will compete in Corbett Pool. Prior to the meet starting, Krista Jones, Aimee Stinson, Eli Bell, Devin Hougardy, Alex Larkin, Tyler Miller and Matt Urich will be honored.
"This senior class has worked hard in and out of the pool and are tremendous student-athletes" said UW head coach Tom Johnson. "I am proud of their commitment and for their contribution to Wyoming swimming."
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will look to stay undefeated on the season against UNLV.
The 'Pokes, 9-0 overall, 1-0 in the Mountain West Conference, are in a first place tie with UNLV for the top spot in the conference. The Cowgirls are in first place on the women's side with an overall record of 8-0, and 2-0 in the league.
Before facing UW, the Rebels will take on Air Force on Friday afternoon. Prior to this weekend, the UNLV men have posted a record of 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the MWC, while the women are 3-3 overall, 2-3 in the conference.
"UNLV is the defending conference champions and it will be a challenge for us," Johnson continued. "Saturday will be a measuring stick for us and I am expecting a close meet, especially on the women's side. I hope we can honor our seniors by getting a win for the Brown and Gold."
