COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Cowgirl swimmer Kelsey Conci and Cowboy diver Mark Murdock were named female swimmer and male diver of the week by the Mountain West Conference on Tuesday.

Conci, a native of Craig, Colo., captured two individual wins in Wyoming's conference meet versus UNLV. After opening the competition swimming the leadoff leg of the Cowgirls' 200-yard medley relay that won in 1:45.35, the junior clocked an event-best time of 55.81 in the 100-yard backstroke. Conci, who added a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.49), also led off for Wyoming's winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:30.04), after breaking a Corbett Pool record with a split of 50.95.

"This honor is well-deserved. She had a great (winter) training session and to be coming off that with such fast times is great to see," Wyoming head swimming coach Tom Johnson said.

Murdock, from Flower Mound, Texas, swept the springboard events in the Cowboys' conference dual meet versus UNLV on Saturday. The senior broke a Corbett Pool record on the 1-meter springboard, scoring 361.58 points to win the event and qualify for the NCAA zone meet. He also turned in a zone-qualifying score of 370.20 to win the 3-meter springboard.

"Mark is an incredible athlete. He really stepped up on Saturday breaking the pool record," Wyoming diving coach Pat Bukowski said.

Also awarded were UNLV sophomore swimmer Cody Roberts and San Diego State junior diver Kristen Meier.
