Wyoming senior diver Dominy Aldermanwas named to the 1999-2000 GTE Academic All-District VII Second-Teamat-large squad for women's fall/winter sports. Alderman, fromAnchorage, Alaska, is majoring in elementary education and has acumulative GPA of 3.78.
During the 1999-2000 swimming and diving season, Alderman helped theCowgirls to one of their best seasons ever, finishing with a dual meetrecord of 7-1 and a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Mountain WestConference Championships. The Cowgirls also defeated rival ColoradoState for the first time in school history.
Individually Alderman placed sixth at the MWC championships on theplatform, seventh on the one-meter springboard and 14th on thethree-meter springboard. She recorded a career best score on thethree-meter (403.45) at the Air Force Diving Invite, placing third inthe same event. She was named Mountain West Conference Diver of the WeekNov. 17, 1999, and also qualified and competed at the 2000 NCAA Zone "E"Diving Championships.
Alderman has left her mark in the record books at UW having the thirdbest mark in the platform in school history and the seventh best dive inthe three-meter. She has also been named a two-time AcademicAll-Conference and Academic Scholar-Athlete selection.
