Scott Usher to Compete at 2004 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming junior ScottUsher will compete in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the2004 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, March 25-27 in EastMeadow, N.Y. The championships will be held at the Nassau CountyAquatic Center.

Usher, a Grand Island, Neb. native will compete in the 100breaststroke event on Friday, March 26 and the 200 breaststroke onSaturday, March 27. Preliminary action will begin at noon and finalsare slated to begin at 7 p.m., ET.

According to collegeswimming.com, Usher swam the fastest 100breaststroke time in the nation, 53.75, at the 2004 Mountain WestConference Championships. His time of 1:56.59 is the second fastest200 breaststroke time in the nation this season.

At the 2003 NCAA Championships, Usher placed sixth in the 200breaststroke with a time of 1:57.05, earning All-American status. Healso placed 15th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.75.
