DENVER, Colo. - University of Wyoming senior swimmer Adam Kalms was named Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this season. It is the third time in his career he has been earned the award.
Kalms, a senior from Marmong Point, Australia, led the Pokes at the prestigious Texas Invite last weekend. Kalms finished seventh in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:36.30. He also swam the fastest time in the WAC this season in the 200 freestyle at 1:35.88 in the preliminaries. He finished 19th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.35. His mark in the event is the third-fastest in school history and eighth-fastest in the WAC this season. Kalms finished 11th in the 100 freestyle with the fourth-fastest mark in school history at 43.62. His preliminary time of 43.54 is second fastest in the WAC this season.
