COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Wyoming junior swimmer Molly Coonce was named Mountain West Co-Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday for the first time in her career. Coonce is also the first Cowgirl to garner the award this season.
Coonce, a native of Batavia, Ill., set a school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.33 at the Texas Invite. She also recorded an NCAA `B' cut time in the event and ranks second in the conference. Her qualifying time of 1:59.42 in the 200 butterfly at the Texas Invite was the fastest time in the MW this season and also came in as an NCAA `B' cut time. Coonce swam the third leg of the 400 medley relay that finished with a mark of 3:41.57 that ranks second in the MW.
Air Force sophomore Genevieve Miller was also named MW Co-Swimmer of the Week. Boise State sophomore diver Jordan Marthens was named Diver of the Week.
