COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
Junior Brandon Douglass finished his action in the heptathlon Friday at the Air Force Team Challenge, and his efforts earned him a spot in UW's track record book.
Douglass scored 4,970 points in seven events, putting him fourth on the men's indoor all-time list in the event. The junior finished sixth out of 24 participants in the standings for the event. Douglass was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles Friday with a time of 8.49 seconds.
Freshman Kyle Sullivan completed his first heptathlon and finished 22nd overall. Sullivan scored 3,881 points and had his best finish in the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.92 seconds, good for 11th.
"Both Brandon and Kyle are novices to the heptathlon," UW assistant coach Quincy Howe said. "Even though Douglass left a lot of points on the track over the last few days, his total has indicated a bright future in the event. Kyle didn't have his best weekend but we are confident that his best events are ahead of him."
