The Cowboy and Cowgirl middle distance squads combined for five all-time top-10 marks for the University of Wyoming track and field team's at three meets on Saturday. Freshman Ricky Faure ran the fifth-fastest 800 meters in Cowboy history, while sophomore Kerry White notched the second-fastest 800 meters in Cowgirl annals.

"Looking at the past two days from field events to hurdles to middle distance, I thought as a program we got better," UW head coach Bryan Berryhill said. "When you combine those two days, I think you have to be pretty satisfied and that will help us a lot in two weeks when we go back to Albuquerque for the Mountain West Championships."

Faure ran a personal-best 1:51.15 to win the 800 meters at the Don Kirby Invite in Albuquerque, N.M. The altitude-converted time moves him to fifth on Wyoming's indoor top-10 list in the event, while ranking second in the Mountain West this season. Faure has won all four individual events he has run this indoor season. Graduate student Thomas Atkinson finished runner-up in the race in a personal-best 1:51.30, good for sixth in Cowboy history and fourth in the conference this season.

White was just as impressive in the women's 800 meters, placing second in a personal-best 2:11.15, good for second in Cowgirl history and third in the conference. Other solid performances in Albuquerque included sophomore Jordan Charles finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a season-best 8.05, the fastest time in the MW this season.

At the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, sophomore Audra DeStefano notched the second-fastest 3,000 meters in school history in a personal-best 9:39.51, just three seconds away from the school record, to place 13th in the race. Junior Amos Bowen had a career best in the men's race at 8:17.64 to rank seventh in Cowboy history and finish 26th in the race.

At Adams State's NCAA Qualifier in Alamosa, Colo., senior Aaron Derner won the 5,000 meters in 14:46, while junior Mike Seas was fifth in 15:29. Redshirt freshman Garrett Westlake was ninth in the mile at 4:26.

Wyoming returns to action hosting the Rocky Mountain Classic on Friday in War Memorial Fieldhouse.
