Zowada Places Second at UNC Multi-Events

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming trackand field teams completed competition at the Mike BennettDecathlon/Kim Schiemenz Heptathlon Friday, at Nottingham Field, inGreeley, Colo.

UW's Bret Zowada finished in second place with 6,240 points. Hefinished first in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:03.93 tohighlight the second day of competition. Zowada also finished secondin the pole vault clearing 12' 1".

UW's Eric Suter finished in fourth place with 5,888 points. CSU'sRon Jett took first place, scoring 6,382 points.

Sophomore Ingvild Carstens was the Cowgilrs' top finisher placingsixth in the women's heptathlon with 4,223 total points. Junior LeahBurke took seventh with a point total of 4,1116.

Colorado State's Crissy Gourdin took the top spot in the women'sfield finishing with 5,136 points.
