COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Wyoming men's and women's track and field teams collected nine All-Mountain West honors when the league office announced the all-conference teams on Monday. Nine honors are the same amount the Cowboys and Cowgirls won last season. All-conference selections were awarded to the top-three finishers in each event at last weekend's MW Indoor Championships.
Senior Holly Page highlighted the honorees with her third and fourth All-MW awards. She won the 3,000 meters in 9:26 to break her own school record in the event by 10 seconds and was runner-up in the 5,000 meters in 16:28, just eight seconds off her own school record. Sophomore Jordan Charles claimed his third all-conference honor with a title in the 60-meter hurdles. His winning time of 7.90 was just three hundredths of a second shy of his own school record and was the third-fastest time in the history of the MW conference meet.
Junior Scott Carter earned his second All-MW accolade with a third-place finish in the long jump after a personal-best leap of 23-4. Senior Colin Herold, junior Tyler Anderson and freshman Ricky Faure earned a nod for All-MW for the first time in their careers. Herold ran a personal-best 7.95 to finish runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, Anderson was two inches shy of his personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 65-9 for second and Faure ran 1:50 in the 800 meters for third.
Head coach Bryan Berryhill has guided 26 Cowboys and Cowgirls to All-MW indoor honors during his three seasons at the helm for Wyoming.
