Two University of Wyoming throwers performed well late Friday night at Boise State’s Border Clash.
Senior Tyler Anderson topped a field of 24 in the men’s hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 201-11. The mark improved upon his previous best by over three feet and ranks first in the Mountain West this season. It also moved him into ninth in Cowboy history in the event.
Freshman Emelda Malm-Annan threw a personal-best 183-9 to place third among the 39 female competitors in the hammer throw. She also improved her previous best by three feet and set a UW freshman record according to associate head coach Paul Barrett. The mark was just 11 inches shy of the Cowgirls’ all-time top 10 in the event and ranks fifth in the MW this season.
Wyoming’s full squads return to action on Friday with a dual against Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo.
