Gervais Earns All America Honors At The 2000 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Jason Gervais rebounded from a disappointingthird-place finish in the Mountain West Conference Championships to takesecond place and earn All America honors in the discus at the NCAA OutdoorTrack and Field Championships in Durham, N.C.

Gervais had his second best throw of the year at 62.82, according toUW head men's and women's track and field coach Larry Judge. "It was anexcellent throw for Jason. There was no breeze, and he really stepped itup. He was only third in the Mountain West Conference, and now he finishessecond in the NCAAs. So the men are on the board with eight points.Overall today, I think we represented Wyoming Track and Field very, verywell," Judge said.

The men's discus was won by Gabor Mate of Auburn with a throw of65.74.
