UW Track and Field Hosts Wyoming Invite to Begin Indoor Season

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming track and field program will play host to a number of schools this coming Saturday, Dec. 9 at War Memorial Fieldhouse for their first indoor event of the season, the Wyoming Invite. Those competing will include Colorado State University, the University of Colorado, the Colorado Flyers club and Wyoming.

Returning for UW this year will be 2006 NCAA qualifiers Kate Burton, Blake Jackson, Brad Charters, Philemon Tanui, Olav Roe, Sharon Larrier, Amanda Hopper and Shaylee Babbitt.

The meet will officially begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning with the 35lb. weight throwing event, followed by the high jump and long jump. Beginning at 12 p.m. will be the pole vaulting event, followed by the shot put and triple jump. The track events will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 55 meter hurdles, followed by the 55 meter dash, one mile run, 400 meter run, 500 meter run, 800 meter run, 200 meter dash and 4x400 meter relay at 2:10 p.m.
