COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming's Harry Fisher and Shreese Daniels have been named the Mountain West Male Track Athlete of the Week and Female Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday. Fisher earned the weekly award for the first time in his career, while Daniels has won it twice.
Fisher, a graduate student from Southampton, U.K., won the 800 meters at last Friday's Power Meet in Laramie. His altitude- and track-converted time of 1:51.51 currently leads the conference and nation in the event. Daniels, a senior from Steilacoom, Wash., won the weight throw and placed third in the shot put at the meet. Her mark of 64-10 in the weight throw currently leads the conference and ranks seventh in the nation.
Wyoming is off until the Air Force Invite on Jan. 23-24 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
