LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Alysha Davis

What is your favorite run to go on when you are training? I.E.: around town, around the track, up at Vedauwoo.
"I prefer to run up in the mountains or someplace with really good scenery. I hate running around town because we do it a lot in the winter and it can get boring really fast. Besides I am a very impatient person so I hate waiting at cross walks."

What is your favorite part about the state of Wyoming?
"I like that there aren't a lot of people in Wyoming because I am not a big people person. The best thing I like about Wyoming is that it has great buffalo burgers and you cannot find them in Indiana!"

What do you miss most about Indiana?
"It is crazy to think about but I actually miss the trees and the corn fields back home; here it is all dirt and grass. The thing I miss the most is Stake and Shake. It is these amazing restaurants were you can get the best hamburgers and cheese fries and their milkshakes are out of this world!"

What was your last job?
"I have always worked for my parents as a florist and at our greenhouse. I don't mind working there but sometimes it can be a little much working with your parents every day."

What's hanging up on your walls in your bedroom?
"I have the 2008 cross country and track poster and a poster of the best football team in the world, the Indianapolis Colts!"

Do you bike, drive or run to school and practice?
"For right now I bike to school but when it starts to get really cold I will start taking the shuttle."

If you could have one super-power, what would it be and why?
"If I had a super-power I would want to fly. I envy Superman because he can fly and he is really strong and fast, but I would just want to fly. If I had too much superpower people would start to rely on me to save them and save the day. I am not a very reliable person so a lot of people would be let down because I would never come and save them."

What was your favorite event or moment to watch in the recent Olympics?
"I like every event at the Olympics, I even watched a little bit of the trampoline, but it was not very exciting. My favorite people to watch at the games were Misty May and Kerri Walsh when they won the beach volleyball! I think if I could be one I would be Misty May, even though I hate volleyball and refuse to play."

Do you wish cross country was more rugged with the courses? I.E.: run through mud, across little streams, run on rocks...
"Sometimes it would be nice to have a more challenging course. Mostly our races are on golf courses, which can get really boring. If we had some mud pits or hay bales to jump over it would make a race a lot more interesting."

If you could add one obstacle or aspect to cross country what would it be? I.E.: everyone gets a paintball gun, water gun, every mile you have to do a dizzy bat, anything ...
"It would be really funny to have a race that was also a pie eating contest. Every mile the person had to eat pie and the person who crossed the finish line first...without throwing up... would win."

When you run errands do you run from store to store? Or class to class?
"The only time I ever run is at practice or when I absolutely have to. I get enough exercise during practice therefore I can be lazy for the rest of the day."

If you could be in any band who would it be and what would you play?
"The only part of a band I like is listening to the music, besides that I want no part in it. I am not coordinated enough nor have enough patience to learn how to play anything."

If you could own a restaurant what would it be?
"If I had the opportunity to open a restaurant it wouldn't matter what the restaurant was. Eventually I would like to go to culinary school and open up my own restaurant. If I had to choose I would probably have a restaurant that had a bakery in it."

What is your favorite Gatorade flavor?
"I am not picky, they all taste good!"
