LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The 2007 Mountain West Conferene Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, originally scheduled for 10 and 11 a.m., Saturday, October 27, in San Diego has been relocated due to a variety of conditions related to wildfires in the area.
The championship meets will now be run at the University of New Mexico North Golf Course in Albuquerque. Start time for the men's race will be 10 a.m. MT on Saturday, October 27, followed by the women's race at 11 a.m. MT.
This is the second time in the conference's nine-year history that the championships have been moved from San Diego to Albuquerque due to wildfires. The last time it happened was in 2003, when SDSU was to play host to the meet at Morley Field.
The decision to move the cross country meet was made yesterday based upon currently available information relating to:
Federal and state emergency declaration
Displacement of evacuees
