LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Andre Emmett scored 27 points and Kasib Powell added17 and seven assists as Texas Tech defeated Wyoming 90-84 on Tuesday.
The win extends Tech's win streak to eight heading into Big 12 Conferenceplay against Kansas State on Sunday.
Tech (11-1) managed to hang on after nearly squandering an 18-point halftimelead. Wyoming's defense toughened and the Red Raiders' shooting turned coldduring a 17-4 Cowboys run early in the second half. Wyoming (9-4) pulled withinfour inside the final minute.
Tech, however, made 6-of-8 free throws in the final 30 seconds to hold offthe Cowboys.
Wyoming's run-and-gun offense heated up early in the second half, narrowingthe gap to 13 at 62-49 after just 6 minutes.
Will Chavis scored 16 points and Andy Ellis added 10 for Texas Tech.
Tech's biggest lead came in the first half with the Red Raiders went aheadby 21. They led 52-34 at halftime.
