LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Jay Straight scored 21 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, to lead Wyoming over Denver 78-72 on Tuesday.

Straight tallied 11 points during a seven-minute stretch, including two 3-point buckets, to key a 21-6 surge.

The spurt erased Denver's 54-46 lead and put the Cowboys (7-5) ahead for good at 67-60 with six minutes to play.

Straight tied the contest with a layup, then added a long-range jumper to put Wyoming up 61-58. Denver (5-6), which took an early 18-8 lead, never pulled ahead again.

Alex Dunn added 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots for Wyoming, while Jerry Webb scored 11, including two 3-pointers during the game-changing run.

Yemi Nicholson led the Pioneers with 22 points, while Erik Benzel and Antonio Porch added 14 each and Rodney Billups 12.
